LEGAL NOTICE EAST IRONDEQUOIT CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT PUBLIC BUDGET HEARING AND VOTE AND ELECTION -NOTICE is hereby given that the Board of Education of the East Irondequoit Central School District, Monroe County, will hold a public budget hearing on May 12, 2026 at 6:00 P.M. for the purpose of discussion of the expenditures of funds and the budgeting thereof for the fiscal year July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027. It will be held in Room No. 102 at the Laurelton-Pardee School, 600 Pardee Road, Irondequoit, NY 14609. and NOTICE is hereby given that the election of members of the Board of Education of the District and the vote upon the appropriation of the necessary funds to meet the estimated expenditures of the District during the ensuing school year and on propositions involving the expenditure of money or authorizing the levy of taxes will be held between the hours of 6:00 A.M. and 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, in the Eastridge High School annex gymnasium, 2350 Ridge Road East in the Town of Irondequoit; and NOTICE is hereby given that petitions nominating candidates for the office of member of the Board of Education must be filed in the District Clerk's office at 600 Pardee Road, Irondequoit, NY 14609 between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. not later than Monday, April 20, 2026. A nominating petition must be signed by at least twenty-five (25) qualified voters of the District, must state the residence of each signer and the name and residence of the candidate. Vacancies for four (4) seats are to be filled on the board of education, one for the seat of current Board member Katrina Davenport commencing on May 20, 2026 and ending July 30, 2027, and each of the other three for a term commencing July 1, 2026 and ending June 30, 2029 to fill the seats of current Board members Daniel McInerney, Jill Ricci, and Carol Watt. and NOTICE is hereby given that copies of the statement of the amount of money which will be required for the ensuing year for school purposes and for propositions involving the expenditure of money or authorizing the levy of taxes and of the tax exemption report may be obtained by any resident in the District during the fourteen (14) days immediately preceding the vote and election (except on Saturdays, Sundays or holidays), and on the date of the election, between the hours of 9:30 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. at any District schoolhouse, as listed: Laurelton-Pardee Intermediate School, 600 Pardee Road Ivan Green Primary School, 800 Brown Road Durand-Eastman Intermediate School, 95 Point Pleasant Road Helendale Road Primary School, 220 Helendale Road Eastridge Sr. High School, 2350 Ridge Road East East Irondequoit Middle School, 155 Densmore Road and NOTICE is hereby given that applications for early mail and absentee ballots are available on the District website, www.eastiron.org, or may be applied for at the office of the District Clerk. Any such application must be received by the District Clerk at least seven (7) days before the date of the election if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the day before if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter. A list of all persons to whom early mail and absentee ballots have been issued shall be available for public inspection in the District Clerk's Office during regular office hours, during each of the five (5) days prior to the election, except Sundays, starting on May 14, 2026, and will be posted at the polling place on the day of the vote. and NOTICE is hereby given that military voters who are qualified voters of the School District may apply for a military ballot by requesting an application from the District Clerk at 585-339-1200 or cbellingham@eastiron.org. For a military voter to be issued a military ballot, the District Clerk must have received a valid ballot application no later than 5:00 pm on April 23, 2026. In a request for a military ballot application or ballot, the military voter may indicate their preference for receiving the application or ballot by mail, facsimile transmission or electronic mail. NOTICE is hereby given that the following proposition will be submitted for voter approval at such time: Proposition # 2 - The 2026 Equipment Reserve Fund Shall the following resolution be adopted: BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Education of the East Irondequoit Central School District be authorized to establish a new capital reserve fund pursuant to Section 3651 of the Education Law to be designated "The 2026 Equipment Reserve Fund" created to defray the cost of equipment, machinery, or other apparatus incidental thereto, and in order to accomplish the same, the Board is hereby authorized to establish the ultimate amount of such Reserve Fund to be Five Million Dollars ($5,000,000) with a probable term of fifteen (15) years. The Board of Education is hereby authorized to pay funds from the available fund balance, state aid reimbursement to the School District on account of capital projects, such other monies as the voters may direct, and/or other legally available funds of the School District to such reserve fund in an amount determined by the Board of Education up to the maximum authorized amount. NOTICE is hereby given that the following proposition will be submitted for voter approval at such time: Proposition # 3 - Change in Number of Board Members and Length of Terms Shall the Board of Education of the East Irondequoit Central School District (the "Board") be authorized to (a) decrease the number of seats on the Board from nine (9) members to seven (7) members; and (b) reduce positions as current terms expire to achieve the reduction of positions, and, consistent with State law, to temporarily alter the length of terms of next-elected Board members during any of the three years next succeeding the adoption of this proposition (i.e., 2027, 2028 and 2029), as provided by Education Law § 2105 so that, as nearly as possible, an equal number of Board members shall be elected prospectively to the Board each year?
