NOTICE OF ANNUAL VOTE
ON BUDGET, PROPOSITION AND ELECTION
-NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a vote by the voters of the Greece Central School District upon the appropriation of the necessary funds to meet estimated expenditures for the ensuing year, and a vote upon the propositions hereafter set forth, will be held on May 19, 2026 between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. local time.
AND NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that the following proposition will be submitted for voter approval at such time:PROPOSITION #1Shall the following resolution be adopted to wit:
Resolved that the Board of Education of the Greece Central School District is hereby authorized to undertake the acquisition of gasoline and/or diesel school buses, including, without limitation, fifteen (15) 70-passenger school buses, at an estimated cost of $186,812 each, ten (10) 70-passenger school buses with cargo holds, at an estimated cost of $189,447 each, two (2) 35-passenger wheelchair accessible school buses, at an estimated cost of $155,608 each and eight (8) 30-passenger school buses, at an estimated cost of $112,069, all at an estimated maximum aggregate cost of $5,904,418, less trade-in value, if any, and to appropriate and expend from the existing bus purchase reserve fund $2,705,000 for such cost, and that the balance of such cost, or so much thereof as may be necessary, shall be raised by the levy of a tax to be collected in annual installments, with such tax to be offset by state aid available therefor; and, in anticipation of such tax, debt obligations of the school district as may be necessary not to exceed $3,199,418 shall be issued, or the School District may enter into an installment purchase contract if the Board of Education determines that it is in the best interest of the School District to finance the purchase in that method.
Such vote shall be by voting machines and shall be held at the above time and date at the following place:

AND NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that the final register of the voters will be filed in the office of the District Clerk and will be open for inspection during regular business hours on each of the five days prior to the day of the election, except Sunday, and except that the hours shall be between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon on Saturday.
AND NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that a copy of the statement of the amount of money which will be required for the ensuing year for school purposes specifying the several purposes and the amount of each, including the amount estimated necessary for payments to the Board of Cooperative Educational Services with no deduction of estimated state aid may be obtained by any resident in the district during the fourteen days immediately preceding the above vote, and on the day of the vote, except Saturday, Sunday or Holiday, at each school house in the district between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. local time together with the text of any proposition which will be presented to the voters.
AND NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that the Board of Education will hold a public hearing for the purpose of discussion of the expenditure of funds and the budgeting thereof on May 5, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. local time at Greece Central School District, Transportation and Support Services Facility, 1790 Latta Road in said District.
AND NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that petitions nominating candidates for the office of member of the Board of Education must be filed with the undersigned District Clerk between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. not later than April 20, 2026. The following vacancies are to be filled on the Board of Education:
Three-year Term 2026-2029 incumbent - Sean McCabe
Three-year Term 2026-2029 incumbent - William Maloney
Three-year Term 2026-2029 incumbent - Todd Butler
Vacancies shall not be considered as separate offices and said petitions shall not describe any specific vacancy upon the Board of Education for which the candidate is nominated. As many candidates may be elected as there are vacancies to be filled. The three candidates receiving the highest number of votes will serve the full terms.
AND NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that the election of members of the Board of Education will be held by voting machine at the same time and in the same respective place of election as the vote upon the appropriation of necessary funds to meet estimated expenditures for the ensuing year herein above set forth.
AND NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that applications for early mail ballots may be obtained at the Office of the District Clerk at 750 Maiden Lane, Rochester, New York 14615. A voter must submit a written application form to the District Clerk no earlier than the thirtieth day prior to the election. Applications for absentee ballots may be obtained at the Office of the District Clerk at 750 Maiden Lane, Rochester, New York 14615. For an early mail or absentee ballot that is to be mailed to the applicant, the deadline for submission is seven days before the election. For an early mail or absentee ballot to be delivered in person in the Office of the District Clerk, the deadline for submission is the day before the election.
AND NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that any military voter registered with the District may request an application for a military ballot. Such requests must be directed to the District Clerk and should indicate the military voter's preference to receive the registration form and ballot by mail, facsimile transmission or electronic mail. All such applications must be returned to the District Clerk no later than twenty-five (25) days prior to the vote date.
All completed early mail, absentee and military ballots must be received in the Office of the District Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. local time on May 19, 2026, the day of the vote. A list of all persons to whom early voting, absentee, and military ballots shall have been issued will be available for inspection during regular business hours in said office of the Clerk during the five days prior to the day of the election, except Saturday and Sunday.
