TOWN OF GREECE DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPOMENT -2025 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM (CDBG) PROPOSED USE OF SUPPLEMENTAL FUNDS As a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) provided supplemental funding to the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. The CARES Act allowed for funds to be utilized to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the impacts of the crisis. The Town of Greece received Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus funds (CDBG - CV) from HUD for use in the Town's 2019 program year, which began August 1, 2019. The Town of Greece is now proposing an amendment to its previously approved 2019 CDBG Annual Action Plan to allow for the acceptance and use of these supplemental funds, and to reallocate remaining CDBG-CV resources toward the next phase of the Town's response initiatives. Public Meeting The proposed amendment will be discussed at a public meeting on: Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. Eastman Room, Greece Town Hall One Vince Tofany Boulevard Greece, New York Proposed Amendment and Reallocation of Funds The following activity, fund allocation, and amendment is proposed to allow the Town of Greece to utilize CV - General Administration and CV - Commercial Occupancy Incentive Fund expiring funds from HUD: 1. Amendment to the 2019 Annual Action Plan to include the following activity/program: 2025 Greece Residential Improvement Program (GRIP) · Allocate $61,212.29 (CV - General Administration) and $3,432.02 (CV - Commercial Occupancy Incentive Fund) toward GRIP. · This funding will supplement the Greece Residential Improvement Program (GRIP), which provides grants to low- and moderate-income homeowners for rehabilitation of single-family, owner-occupied homes. Qualified homeowners may be eligible for a subsidy of up to 100% of the project cost, not exceeding a maximum grant of $7,500.
